Doctrine?
What good is it to have all the right concepts of God down pact and yet not know Jesus personally? Is doctrine (teaching) bad? Not at all. Good doctrine is necessary for a healthy church/Christian. But is good doctrine an end in itself? Absolutely not. Jesus is the end. We study doctrine, the teaching of God from His word, for the sake of knowing and loving Jesus deeper and more fully. After all, what man who says he loves a woman doesn’t go out of his way to spend time and know this woman more deeply?
Tip: Reformed theology is lovely but not the end all. It is possible to know a whole lot about God and not actually know Him.
